Juvederm | Dermal Fillers

What is JuvédermTM and what are dermal fillers?

Juvéderm™ and dermal fillers are a substance which is injected into the skin to plump it up, make it firmer and smooth out lines and wrinkles.
There are many fillers on the market these days but Caddell's only uses synthetically produced non-animal products consisting of hyaluronic acid which is a natural chemical constituent of the skin. These products are far less likely to produce allergic reactions than old-fashioned fillers such as collagen which is derived from cow hide.

What areas is JuvédermTM used for?

Facial lines
Wrikle correction
Shaping facial contours (such as cheeks and chin correcting)
Smile lines (correcting thin, superficial lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead)
Most types of scars
Lip enhancement

How is a JuvédermTM treatment performed?

After the Caddell's specialist determines the best injection sites for you, the area will be numbed with a topical anesthetic. The gel is then injected just beneath the skin surface with a very fine needle and improvement is seen immediately. The filler remains in the skin where it binds water to produce a lift and firmness to the treated areas.

How long do JuvédermTM treatments take?

Treatments usually take around 30 minutes. For lip enhancement, a local anaesthetic injection is usually given to remove any discomfort.

How long does JuvédermTM last?

The effects of JuvédermTM usually last six to nine months, but sometimes more or sometimes less depending on skin type, the area treated, and the volume injected. JuvédermTM is gradually broken down and absorbed by the body, so the lines, wrinkles or lips will ultimately return to their previous appearance without top up treatments. The outcome can be optimized and made to last longer with a follow-up procedure a few weeks after the initial treatment. This will be decided during your complimentary consultation with the Caddell's specialist.

Are there any reactions to treatment?

There may be some local treatment responses and these are perfectly normal. They can include temporary discomfort, discoloration or mild to moderate redness and swelling. Typically these responses are temporary and, if they do occur, will usually go away within a couple of days.

What is the overall opinion of temporary fillers therapy?

Over the last few years, hyaluronic acid has emerged as the miracle compound for filling in wrinkles.

Is it expensive?

For the same cost as a day at the beauty salon, a few rounds of golf or a night at a favorite hotel you will look and feel so much better.
