Lasers have revolutionized the cosmetic surgery industry and laser vein therapy is just one of the areas to be most effected. Traditionally, "spider" veins and other unwanted veins hovering just under the skin's surface had to be treated by injection. Larger veins are still treated using laser vein therapy, by injecting a saline solution, but the smaller ones can now be treated with a laser.
The lasers used for cosmetic plastic surgery are generally hand-held devices that are focused very shallowly into the skin to effect cosmetic changes. In the case of laser spider vein therapy, the laser is focused on the offending vein and raises the temperature of the vessel to facilitate coagulation. It may take several treatments to have an effect.

"I had red broken capillaries on my legs, near my knees. I only needed one laser treatment for them to go away! I am so excited and will continue to use laser if I get further veins in the future." D.C.
