What is a MediDerm® Laser treatment?

A MediDerm® procedure is a treatment where the MediDerm® Laser employs a patented Erbium YAG solid-state laser that delivers a beam of light energy. Energy at this wavelength is absorbed almost entirely by water. When this beam of energy impinges on the skin, the top layer of skin flash evaporates, causing controlled tissue removal. The water is thermally driven from the spaces. This allows other cells to expand into the space once occupied by this excess water thus revealing rejuvenated and tightened skin. While MediDerm® Laser is not a therapeutic device designed specifically to treat an illness or injury, it yields superior cosmetic and aesthetic results for the skin.

Is the MediDerm® different from other Erbium lasers?

Absolutely. Old style high energy Erbium lasers results take weeks to heal and are too aggressive and painful for most patients. The unique power and pulse length of the MediDerm® laser is very different from old Erbium lasers.

How is a MediDerm® Laser positioned in relation to other cosmetic procedures?

The MediDerm® Laser is positioned between basic MicroDermabrasion or Intense Pulsed Light and the more extreme and expensive surgical lifts and strong chemical peels. The result is looking and feeling years younger with softer, smoother healthier looking skin.

What are the MediDerm® Laser results?

The treated layer of the skin will peel completely within 2-7 days. During this time period, the appearance of the exfoliating skin can be minimized or eliminated by use of a moisturizer or make-up. Your skin care professional at Caddell's Laser & Electrolysis Clinic might recommend a cleansing face scrub or other exfoliation treatment during this time period. The MediDerm® can reduce fine lines or wrinkles and give the newly exposed surface layer of skin a more uniform texture and younger look.

What should I expect after the MediDerm® Laser Treatment?

• A very mild stinging sensation for the first several hours. This can be relieved with a cold compress. Moisturizers or creams should not be used during this time period unless approved by your clinician at Caddell's Laser & Electrolysis Clinic.

• Some degree of redness. Some areas may appear more red than others which will diminish during the regeneration period as your face peels and can be easily covered with make-up.

• Complete Face peel & recovery in 5-7 days.

What is the MediDerm® regimen?

Similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, results are not permanent and you will want to have a MediDerm® Laser treatment 3 or 4 times a year to maintain the benefits.
